Crayon Drawing

In going with the theme of melting as I have done with my plastic creations I have decided to incorporate a newly learned technique of melting ordinary coloured crayons into a shape, pattern, and colour arrangement that so to look like my final model.

I began by selecting colours of crayon that could be seen throughout my model. Next using a hair dryer I melted the crayons onto a piece of paper. Drops of liquid crayon wax dripped and splattered onto the piece of paper, creating a texture not unlike the plsatic of the model.
I left the large splatter to dry overnight and the crayon cracked and curled the paper. The next night I carefully cut out the desired shape. I used spray glue to stick it to a new sheet, to flatten out the image and stick it to the new sheet I needed to re-melt the crayon as I stuck it down.
Once established on a new piece of paper I could go about shaping the drill holes, defining the edges of the shape, and adding shadows and light to the background and foreground. I scratched the crayon with a nail to get the desired holes in the shape. I then drew on the foreground/background with black, white, and grey crayon. After which I warmed with the hair dryer and brushed over to add a nicer texture.

I photographed the image instead of scanning it, I think I would make a mess of both the image and the scanner if I tried.
After a quick cropping my image was finished.
